The OKC area was hit with major flash floods on June 14, 2010. Rain fell overnight generated by the same system that produced floods in the panhandles the day before. During the morning of June 14, storms continued to form over central OK. Before the rains ended, the OKC metro was swamped with 5" - 12+" of rain. The hardest hit areas were in NE OKC and Edmond, where dramatic rescues were shown live on TV by some of the local station's helicopters. I drove around town to monitor the floods and take some pictures, which are posted below.
