We went to visit Michael in Ouray around New Years 2011. After the Sunday afternoon sled trip, we went to the Ouray Ice Rink in Rotary Park. The city put on an event to celebrate the season's opening of the rink with skating, a bonfire, grilled food, drinks, etc. It was another great example of the communal events that make Ouray great! It was also the first time that Dylan had ever ice skated. He had more fun skating than anything else we did on the trip, and even remarked that it was his "new most favorite day". We did not get too many good pics because of lighting and movement, but what I have are below.
