We left the OKC area the morning of the game. The roads were clear, but the ground was snow covered from OKC to KC, from a snowstorm that ended about 30 hours earlier. It was going to be cold!!! Very Cold. The forecast was for temps in the mid-20's at gametime, to fall into the teens, with a stiff breeze. We took hand warmers to the game, which I placed in my gloves and boots. I was mocked for putting them in my boots, but I had the last laugh as everyone in my party whined incessantly in the second half about their cold feet. I was quite comfortable for most of the game. A weatherknurd is always prepared for adverse conditions!
A few drunk Nebraska fans tried to pick a fight with us after the game. These foul-mouthed, corn- fed hicks were upset about the game and tried everything to get us to rumble. The second we had enough and granted their wish, they tucked tail and ran as quick as they could. Nebraskans claim they have the most well mannered fans in the country. Not hardly!
