I initially decided not to chase and get some work done. I recieved a call from a friend about a tornado warning to the north of OKC. After quickly checking radar data, I noticed a cell NW of El Reno that looked interesting. I decided on a chasing lunch break. One of my co-workers wanted to come with me, and the chase was on.
We headed out and parked just SW of the El Reno airpark, and watched the cell become undercut by it's own outflow. We drifted SSE with the storm, but it never did intensify by sunset. We called the chase near Minco, due to a lack of light. The same storm would go on to produce a tornado in Anadarko over an hour later. Unfortunately, I do not have pics or video of the event. This was because I left from work, and did not have my cameras.
After our quick chase earlier, Troy and I went back to work. We heard reports coming in from Anadarko as we settled in to complete our tasks for the day. As we did, more storms developed to the north of OKC. I headed out again on reports of large hail and rotation. A tornado warning was issued for south Oklahoma county. I raced southward to Norman as reports of a tornado came in from NE Norman. I intercepted the cells to the east on Hwy. 9. I could make lowerings and rotation in the lightning. The cell never produced another tornado, and I waited on Hwy. 9 as the cell overtook me. I headed back to work to finish my long day. Again, pics were unavailable for the same reason as the 1st leg.
