I was fairly certain that the setup was poor, however I decided to chase anyway given the close proximity of the target. Everyone else went because of boredom, and I told them we would be back fairly early. We were.
We set off around 4pm CDT, and met Mike at the UPS parking lot. I drove south on I-44 toward the Red River. Cells went up as I drove, and we exited near Randlett, OK to take a look. We witnessed a cell begin to form a wall cloud, but it was quickly undercut by the cold front. After a quick relocation south across the river into Texas, the front advanced past new cells that had formed to the south. We quickly made a wise decision and called the chase. After a food stop, we headed home and made it by 10pm CDT.
