Randy had some time before his flight, so we tried to get a quick chase in before he left. The best shear appeared to be along the Red River. We took off for Ardmore and tried to intercept storms coming out of Texas. We didn't make it, and had to exit the interstate and take cover from large hail. The hail decreased before it reached us and became a non-issue. The storms went linear, and we headed back to OKC so Randy could make his flight. On the way, reports started coming in from a brief tornado touchdown on the NW side of OKC in the vicinity of the surface low. Of course!
