Antsy

After an active week, I could not resist the chance for another chase, with backed flow over the area and a nearby triple point. Moisture was somewhat lacking though, and I was probably a little too antsy considering this. Also, I did not have the opportunity to leave as early as I needed to, because I had to finish something at work before we left. I should have waited for another day in hindsight.

A tornado warned storm was ongoing around Wichita Falls when Robbie met me at UPS. We then picked up Mike and Thomas from Diffee in El Reno, OK. We headed south on Hwy. 81, and waited for convection to break the cap south of Chickasha. A few storms did, however they did not sustain themselves, due to the lack of moisture. We were basically caught in a storm-free area most of the evening as convection broke the cap to our north and south. At dusk, an area of convection finally broke the cap to our west. The storm clipped us on our way back to El Reno, but it never became severe.
