The potential looked good for an outbreak of severe storms in Central OK. Unfortunately, I was scheduled to give my capstone presentation early in the afternoon. After I finished, I raced home to grab my gear and could already see the cumulus towers. I got home just in time, and did not have to go very far. There was an area of rotation that was visible about 1/2 mile north of my house. I went east on NE 23rd while staying a few miles ahead of the lowering. I stopped between Choctaw and Harrah for about 10 minutes and watched as the rotation fell apart. The large outbreak did not happen after all.
