I recieved a 3MP Fugi-Film digital camera from my parents on Christmas of 2003. As a consequence, this was the first storm chase I ever went on with my own digital camera. It did not disappoint.
We headed west toward Clinton. As we neared, the cap broke and we went north toward Custer City, to the nearest supercell. The reward was a brief tornado near Custer City. We followed the weakening storm east on I-40, toward El Reno, then took Hwy. 81 north toward Concho. The storm re-intensified near dusk and developed another mesocyclone. It may have produced another rain-wrapped tornado just NW of Concho, however, it was too dark and wrapped in rain to tell if it was an actual touchdown or not. I did capture a nice sunlit pic of the backside of the supercell at dusk. It was my first good storm picture with a digital camera, and one of my favorites.
